What it feels like to live in Charlotte
Charlotte is the original county seat of Dickson County — older than much of Middle Tennessee — and its historic courthouse square still anchors the town. Life here runs on a slower clock than the Nashville metro. Neighbors know each other. Bigger shopping happens a short drive east in Dickson proper.
Location and commute
Charlotte is about 10 minutes north of Dickson off Highway 48. Downtown Nashville is roughly 50 minutes away, which makes Charlotte less of a daily-commuter option and more of a home base for remote workers, local employees, and retirees.
Housing stock and price range
Charlotte has a mix of historic homes near the square, mid-century ranches, and acreage parcels in the surrounding countryside. Entry-level homes can still be found in the $200s, with newer builds in the $300s and $400s and larger acreage properties going higher.
Schools
Charlotte is served by Dickson County Schools. Confirm attendance zones with the district before making a decision.
Parks and outdoor life
The surrounding Dickson County countryside offers access to Montgomery Bell State Park, the Harpeth River, and miles of rural riding and hiking. Downtown Charlotte itself is walkable in the best small-town sense.
Why House Haven knows Charlotte
Charlotte is the kind of market where patience and local knowledge win. We help buyers evaluate older homes honestly — what is charming character versus what is a major renovation project — and price sellers so their home sells in a reasonable window rather than sitting for months.
